Iraqi Republican Guardsman mill around following the end of combat in the Gulf. The ground operations in the Gulf War were quick and brutal, lasting a mere 100 hours. Allied forces crossed into Kuwait and IRaq on February 24th, and by the 28th, Kuwait was liberated, and the Iraqis had agreed to the terms of the ceasefire.
Added in with the casualties from the earlier air assault, Iraqi losses were estimated at about 25,000 killed, and three times that number wounded. The nearly million-strong Coalition forces reported a total of 190 killed in action, as well as 200 Kuwaiti soldiers killed in the initial invasion.
