History! by Zhukov - The Military History Emporium

Following the end of combat operations, British artillerymen take the opportunity to clean their 25-pounders in Baghdad. As the British closed in on the city on the night of May 27th, 1941, the artillery played a key role in the quick collapse of the defenses around the city. The mobility of the British relief forces caught the Iraqis by surprise, and they hadn’t expected the response in force that met their ultimatum the month prior.
